Aaak! Isn’t my little model just adorable!?! I asked for some help holding the quilt and he had to peek out from behind it.
My girlfriend asked me to make a quilt for her baby. We went online and worked together to pick out the fabric. She chose Hugs & Kisses from Jaybird Quilts as the pattern. It was fun to make and I love how it turned out.
I did fmq and then a sort of zig-zag around the diamonds. The above picture is from before it was quilted.
I think this is my most favorite quilt from the dryer ever! It crinkled up like a dream. Even my husband who doesn’t usually notice details, said how amazing it is when the quilts come out of the dryer all crinkly and soft. I was super happy to hear that. I totally agree.
I also made a box pleat valance and crib skirt for my girlfriend that matched. I used the large stripes in the quilt as the main fabric for the skirt and valance. After I had already started on the quilt, and determining how much fabric I needed, I went to get the fabric for the valance and skirt. It was hard to get! I have a few go-to people on Etsy for fabric. I was able to contact one of the ladies who was able to set up a custom listing for the fabric in the line she had left. From now on, I’ll order it all at once!
