I wasn’t in love with the yellows that came with the bundle I ordered for my quilt for the Swoon-along. I loved the greys though. I ran to Joann’s to see fabric in person to get the right yellow. It is just too far for me to go the local quilt store for a chance to match something. (We aren’t in the city.) I found two new yellows and a black with yellow fabric. Yay!
I put together a little line drawing to play with different layouts.
I really would love a quilting program. But, alas, I don’t have one. So I played in Photoshop a little.
One grey fabric I have has large graphic circles that I want to fussy cut for the center of the block. The black is very dark, but I think the greys I have, are too close to the same color…not enough contrast. So I think it needs a little black. I’ve seen some lovely blocks that take the corners and use the same fabric, which makes it look like flowers in each corner. I like that a lot. (first sample on the top right.)
I have also seen some ladies who fussy cut the rectangles to the sides and above and below the center star like Craft.happy on flickr. Isn’t it lovely?
Hmmm. Decisions, decisions.
Ok, I may be overthinking this.
